Lace + Magnolia Boutique for Date Night

LACE TOP (thrifted)
DISTRESSED DENIM (similar)
PURSE (similar)

It has been so long since I've found the time to post here. Sheesh, has life been busy lately. With summer, family vacation, my photography business, VBS planning, Bible study, watching friends' kiddos and being a momma and wife, I just haven't been able to put together a post. They're all good reasons, don't get me wrong, and I love being involved in everything that I am. But, I do miss this little spot of mine. I have still been snapping a few outfit photos though and I hope to share them here at some point. In the near-ish future...  ;)

It may be a while yet but, I do want to share them. I feel like I've come such a long way in finding my style and learning to put outfits together with minimal effort this past year. I've thrifted and bargain shopped and started building up a closet that I really love. This top is so at the top of that favorites list. I picked it up for $2 at my local thrift shop and looooveeee it. It's a size large but, I don't mind because the oversized fit is perfect. I love the tunic length and the romantic details just. get. me. Really, I could go on. I love the way it flows and it works so well with these Magnolia Boutique booties (which are on final sale right now and a great price!). They do go with everything under the sun though, so that could be part of it. The blush bag and dangly earrings finished off this look perfectly.

My hair has grown out a LOT since chopping it a few months ago (like, seriously, INCHES) so I've been struggling a little bit with what to do with it. Should I continue to let it grow and hope it'll near the end of this incredibly awkward stage soon? Or, get an appointment to shape it up into a long pixie again.. Such a tough decision. And something that guys just don't get. I've asked my hubby a few times now and he just says, "I think it looks good.". Hmph.. I wanted a little more than that, ya know! I need an opinion. A real, honest, from the heart take on what I should do to make this 'thing' work for me. Bah, needless to say, I haven't done much. And, I've been more than a little surprised at how quickly it is growing! And, it's really got me missing my long hair. At this rate, I'm hoping it'll hit my shoulders around when the seasons start to change to fall and then, I plan on getting a salon cut (maybe a long bob or something a little edgy) and keep letting it grow. If I can stick it out past the stage it's in now... Urgh it's tough.

Really though, this outfit is the epitome of my style. Soft, neutral tones, comfy, strechy denim, a little bit of edge and a hint of romance. Also, I always like my hair better curled. Maybe it's the texture, maybe it's the fact that it takes away from my face shape. I dunno what it is but, it just works for me. Soooo, here's to jumping back on the blogging bus and hoping to post more outfit photos soon! Have a splendid weekend celebrating all those amazing dads in your life and I pray God blesses you more than you could ever imagine!
